Oakridge is a multicultural commercial and residential district located in the City of Vancouver. In the year 2001, it had a population of 11,795 and of those persons, 50 percent claimed Chinese was their first language.
The neighbourhood of Oakridge is a rectangle section that is bordered by the Main Street to the east and by Granville, a major thoroughfare, on the west. The border in the north is marked by West 41st Avenue and the southern edge of the Oakridge is marked by West 57th. Oak Street and Cambie Street are two of Vancouver's busiest roads and they also run north-south through Oakridge. This allots for numerous amounts of traffic in morning and evening rush hours. Oakridge encompasses 401 hectares in total.
